Wellesley Island State Park, USA

The World Brotherhood Camporee is an annual event held every September with up to 3,000 attendees from Canadian and American Scout Troops. Each year the Loyalist Area, Scouts Canada and the Longhouse Council BSA take turns hosting this camporee. In the even numbered years, it’s held in the USA at Wellesley Island State Park (in the Thousand Islands across from Clayton, NY). In the odd numbered years it’s held in Canada at Riverside-Cedar Campground (near Morrisburg, ON).

  • Hwy 417 West to Hwy 416
  • 15.0 km – use the left 2 lanes to take the ON-416 S exit toward ON-401
  • 75.7 km – continue on ON-416 then merge onto ON-401 W
  • 58.3 km – take exit 661 for ON-137 toward Hill Island / Ontario / I-81 / 1000 Islands Bridge / U.S.A
  • 1.2 km – continue on ON-137 S, this is a toll road that enters NY, USA
  • 3.9 km – continue onto I-81 S toll road
  • 6.0 km – take exit 182 toward Island Rd / Island State Parks
  • 1.0 km – turn right onto 1000 Island Park Rd
  • 650 m – turn right onto Cross Island Rd
  • 2.8 km – turn right into Wellesley Island State park
  • Since this camp is in the USA, passports and other documents are required.
  • Carpooling of attendees is necessary in order to arrive to camp as a group.
